Bothroyd is plainly glad in Japan, and depicts moving there as a standout amongst the best choices he has made in his profession.

"I had offers to go to China for more cash. I had offers to return to England, yet I would not like to," he says.

"I appreciate life around here, I appreciate playing football here. The standard is great. The football is exceptionally specialized and the arenas and offices are great.

"Uninformed individuals in England and Europe dependably undermine the J League since it isn't broadly viewed."

Barcelona legend Iniesta moved to Japan a year ago, and has conceded he attempted to adjust to Japanese culture, and "how well" fans took thrashing.

Bothroyd says he too discovered it a "culture stun" when he joined Jubilo Iwata in 2015.

"Japanese individuals, particularly in football clubs, need to look to the positive side of things constantly," he says.

"It's confounding when you lose recreations and a few players are giggling and kidding. I thought that it was strange, however at this point I know the social contrasts, as much as I don't generally concur with it, it's something that won't change."

Japan will have the Rugby World Cup in September - and players have been advised to conceal their tattoos to abstain from culpable individuals, as they are connected to yakuza wrongdoing syndicates.

It is something Bothroyd rapidly wound up mindful of when he moved to the nation.

"I went on pre-season to a lodging and endeavored to go in the showers and they said I couldn't go in there in light of my tattoos," he says.

"A couple of times I have gone to an open air pool and worn a best to conceal, yet they have still not given me access.
